This is a little funny. I wrote about label American Gold before and checked in my archives to verify. The point of this post is that I am sick and tired of the damn winter. I hate with a passion the cold and detest being bundled in my puffer coat day after day. I feel much more me and free in no jacket and just a dress with some boots. I swear I need to move to another state with lots of sunshine and a very mild winter. Any how when I checked the archives I wrote the post the day before I was leaving on vacation for Puerto Rico and I swear my heart sank just a bit when I read that. I need the warmth so bad right now and would love to go on a tropical vacation just about now. I guess I will have to dream about it but below are some favorite dresses I wish I was wearing outside!

Lets all wish for 75 degrees in NYC at the same time. Maybe we can will it to happen?

Hi All,
Today is my 30th birthday and I am very excited to be pretend styling myself for the occasion in black tie looks! Tonight we are celebrating by going to the play Sleep No More and I seriously can not wait. I think it would be really fun to dress up but we will be on our feet for three hours exploring so that won’t happen. Will have to be comfort dressing all the way. Below are three different looks that I styled for different faux parties. If I learned anything from Rachel Zoe it would be that you need to have many options and different looks. Each theme is a mix of modern and vintage clothing and accessories. Please feel free to click on my pinterest for links.
This is the outfit that I would wear to see Sleep No More if money was of no concern and I had the strength to spend three hours in heels. I went with a vintage flapper dress for the occasion since the play is supposed to take place in the 20′s or 30′s. With some Deco jewelry and crazy spike shoes. This outfit is a little bit Victorian goth and I love it!

For my second party I would love to spend it on a cruise vacation. My birthday would fall on formal night and we would dress up for a fancy dinner and then go to the broadway style show afterwards. The day would have been spent on the beach in the Bahamas. I went with a loud color blocking dress since I love to wear long colorful dresses on vacation. The more color the better with lots of beautiful vintage stunning jewelry and a vintage shawl for even more pop!

For my last party I went with a bohemian but lux outfit with the long kaftan style dress. And a mix of beautiful silver accessories. I think it is perfectly ok to mix gold with silver and opted for vintage gold jewelry with emeralds. This party would be spent somewhere exotic like in Greece which is one of the spots we hit on our honeymoon two years ago. It was so beautiful there and I miss it. I am definitely dreaming of my next vacation even though I have no idea when that will be happening.

I love love love Charlotte Olympia shoes. Her designs are very modern with the exaggerated platform, funky, fun, sexy, loud and so much more. And I think it is so cute her logo is of a gold tone spider web under her shoe. Some favorites below.

Alexa Chung will always be a style icon for me. She has such an effortless look and quality to her dressing which i just adore. I feel like I am always referancig her style when getting dressed in the morning or when shopping too. How would Alexa style this outfit? I feel like Alexa has two different looks when dressing herself. She either goes really girly with cute little dresses but will toughen up the look with boots and maybe a leather jacket. Or she is casual in jeans and a top. I thought it would be fun to play pertend stylist for the day and made a collage of how I would like to dress her with modern and vintage clothing and accecories. I went the feminine route with a little bit of masculin mixed in. Click on my pinterest board for links.

NYC is in full winter mode, we had a snow fall over the weekend and gray and rainy sky’s ever since. I seriously hate this weather, I find it very depressing and I tend to wear alot of black and dark colors because of that. I guess my fashion style usually reflects my mood. I do believe that if you wear brighter pops of color in your ensemble your mood will pick up a little bit. Thats why I am a big fan of wearing lots of neon in the winter. A neon bag, shoe, or item of jewelry can brighten up any dark outfit and looks so chic at the same time. It’s funny how I find so much inspiration from high lighter colors but I do and just love it! I made a collage of some of my favorite neon’s. Click on my pinterest board for links and extra inspirations.

1. love how bright and shiny this clutch is. large enough to hold my wallet, keys, phone, and lipstick
2. this two-tone dress would look great with a black blazer and leggings in the winter and with only a cute sandle or loafer in the summer time
3. Seriously the most insane backpack i have ever seen. would have made high school much more enjoyable if this bad boy was on my back
4. A pop of neon is always essential when wearing a white tank
5. my favorite part of this bracelet is the gold tone paper clip clasp
6. these patent leather pink pumps remind me of Barbie shoes. love that they can fit my feet!
7. metallic deep pink leather and pink tone chunky chain. need I say more?
8. perfect earring to wear with a fancy dress or jeans and a simple tee
9. I am in love with this Movado watch. All black with a hint of neon blue, I need this
10. such a fun every day cuff. like how the neon painted rhinestones make it a little bit more femme
11. will never turn down a patent leather shoe
12. pink on purple skull ring

Hi all,
Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Last week I did another purge in my closet and was able to sell off a few more things which is always exciting. One thing I noticed when going through my closet was that I don’t have many typical button down shirts. I think I have one classic one from Ralph Lauren that is green plaid and found at Goodwill for like 6 bucks. And also a couple of linnin floral blouses from Zara. I seriously hate the look of a crisp white collared shirt. I think that is why I tend to stay away from that type when shopping. First off I don’t really like the color white, I don’t like the stiffness of those shirts, and they always seem either too big or too fitted. And I never like to feel restricted in my clothes. Lately though I have been seeing tons of style bloggers all over the web wearing button downs and looking so cute in them. I did a little digging and saw that all of my favorites were from the label Equipment. What I like about these shirts is that they seem very loose and comfortable. They are also made out of silk which gives a really nice luxurious feel and come in so many different styles, prints, and colors. That is a shirt that I can get used to. The price tag is a bit hefty, in the 200 hundred-dollar price range. But now that I am getting older I would rather spend my money on quality clothing that won’t go out of style and can last at least 10 years. If you think about the cost per wear it can be totally worth it. Here are some of my favorites found on shopstyle.
love this orangey color

would wear over a maxi dress because of the sheer factor

love how extra long this top is and how it looks hand painted

classic pink on pink

floral print collar

my favorite color combo, green and navy

love the crazy paisley print. Has a 70′s vibe to it

Hi All,
Hope you had a nice relaxing long weekend. Craig and I went to Connecticut Friday night to celebrate his Mom’s birthday. I did a little spring cleaning when I was there since I store my out of season clothing and half my bag collection there. I decided it was time to get rid of some bags that I no longer wear. The hardest thing I thew out was a red vintage Gucci bag that I had found at Goodwill a few years back for only 25 dollars. I loved the bag so much but the canvas was peeling from the start and was beyond the state of repair. I would look plain dumb to carry that bag still and out it went. I honestly don’t think I did the best job purging myself of those purses. Most of them were my grandmas that I inherited in 2007 and have seriously never worn. There are so many of hers that I do wear there is honestly no point to keep them all. So the next time we go back I will do a more precise purge. The best thing about getting rid of all those purses is to sell them and with the money I make buy one special purse that I love and will wear all of the time.
I am loving the purses by The Cambridge Satchel Company and need to add one to my closet soon. They come in the most amazing colors, especially the neon and can even be monogrammed with your initials. I love these ones below that I found on The ModCloth site.
my favorite color combination, green and navy

I definitely need some neon in my purse collection

love the mustard yellow color

since the Gucci bag I got rid of was red, this would be the perfect replacement

I feel like my style has definitely evolved in the last couple of years. I no longer only want to wear any and all kinds of vintage. In the past I bought anything with sequins on it regardless of the fit. And I ended up having a wardrobe that was very silly with clothing that just did not fit me properly. I have since sold almost all of those ill-fitting pieces to beacons and now have a more stream lined wardrobe. I still do buy vintage clothing but they have to fit well and make me look and feel good! When it comes to modern clothing I tend to buy more classic pieces that will last and not go out of style. Because what is the point in buying trendy clothing to only throw them away months or years later. I want to invest in clothing that I can wear ten years from now. That is why I am loving the clothing label Smythe. All of the clothing not only looks modern and stylish but 100 percent classic as well. The clothing seems tailored really well and it is seriously clothing that I would love to wear all the time and mix and match. Below are my favorites.

I hate how so many new and good boutiques are opening in Los Angeles after I moved away. Will def need to take a trip there again one day for some shopping inspiration. I am really liking the store Mohawk General Store and am really happy that they have an on line shop as well. I feel like the clothes are very simple, modern, and classic. Below are some of my favorites.

2. looks like a very comfortable oversized tee shirt dress

Hi All,
So I have really been loving this arm party trend lately. Where you mix a ton of bracelets and bangles on one arm or both with your watch. It has such a fun eclectic feel to it. Like more is more and I definitely like to wear all my jewelry at once. In the past I was not much of a bangle wearer. I do wear a special gold and diamond bangle that my Dad gave to me for my 19th birthday every day. That bracelet is just about the only item of jewelry that I own that never ever comes off. I have slowly been building my bracelet collection through the years though and I must admit I really do love them. I have a few vintage bakelite, vintage chinoiserie, vintage gold tone snake cuffs, and then some faux gold cheapies that I found in the wholesale jewelry district. I am pretty picky at choosing wholesale though. They must look modern and classic, nothing trendy. I love to mix all of these bracelets with my watches and will def be taking some pictures soon to show you my own personal collection. In the mean time I found some inspiration on the web that shows how to achieve the look. And also some jewelry that I would love to add to my wrists. Click on my pinterest for links and information!
