Tommy Hilfiger Advertisements

November 30, 2011

If you would have asked me back in highschool if I would ever wear Tommy Hilfiger the answer would be a direct no. I associated Tommy as a street brand with baggy and oversized clothing. I mean that’s how the boys wore it back in my grade and it definitely was not my look. A lot has changed in 11 years. When I think of Tommy Hilfiger now I think of classic americana. My opinion of the fashion brand changed after seeing their campaigns over the last few years. The styling of the clothing is impeccable and I love how the pictures look like giant retro families. They really remind me of the Royal Tannenbaums. The clothing has a vintage collegiate vibe to them as well and I would love to add some of the clothing to my closet.

One of my favorite activities while on the web is to browse the cloests of fashionanable people. It is so fun to get a little sneak peak inside and see what items they are wearing and collecting. Therefore browsing the blog The Covetuer is a real treat. They actually get to get into the closets of fashions elite and take beautiful pictures of their favorite luxury and vintage items. The way they display shoes, jewelry, and bags is really inspring and I love how they mix those items into their everyday household items. I had a great time searching through these closets and choosing which items I would love to add into my own closet.

Rodarte SS12

September 19, 2011

I completely forgot to check the photos from Rodartes SS12 collection until late last night. I always get excited to viw a Rodarte show but must admit I loved them more a few seasons ago back when they did tons of draping. I did not love this collection, alot of the skirt and top outfits did not seem very Rodarte to me but I did love a few of their dresses. I especially was attracted to the Van Gogh insopired patterns and the yellow and gold fabrics.

The Row SS12

September 13, 2011

I am loving the SS12 collection from The Row this season. Everything has a laid back and minimal 90′s feel to it. A little bit grungy with all of the layers but still luxurious. I bet all of the fabrics feel amazing on. The Olsen’s are known for their quality in their designs and for only using the best materials. My favorite looks below all from Vogue.

What have been your favorite looks this season?

Missoni For Target

August 15, 2011

Target has had some great collaborations throuuth the years with some fabuoolus designers. I was so excited a couple of years ago about the Erin Fetherston Colllaboration. Unfortunatly all of those great baby doll dresses looked horrible with my wide shoulders. I must admit that I am super excited that one of my favorite labels Missoni has created a 400 piece collection for Target coming to stores in September. It is not the clothing that has me as excited as the home goods. I love the color pallet and patterns and can’t wait to add hints of it around the apartment. I am in desperate need of a new blanket for the couch, maybe a new shower curtain, some of their fab towels, office supplies, accecories, just so much good stuff. Check out some of my favorites below.

I am not a fan of bike riding but this bike might change my mind

great jewelry boxes, the tray would look fab in my new jewelry dresser that has yet to be organized

perfect color for my desk

makes filing much more fun

the color combos on the towels are amazing, so vibrant

love the fabric detail on the floopy hat

def need these rainboots. My current ones are so ugly

What is your favroites from the collection?

reFine style

May 19, 2011

I just came across this great new website that I wanted to share with all of you, reFINE Style. It is an online market place that sells only gently worn designer clothing and accecories that are curated from consignment shops across the country. The sellers must be hand selected from the site and the public can find designer items that are 70 to 90 percent off of retail prices. Since the site is set up like a market place the goods are avialable at auction with a bid or buy it now option for a limited amount of time. Sort of like Ebay but without the possibility of fake and counterfit designer goods. How great is that. You can now shop with confidence knowing that these designer duds are the real deal. Some of my favorite jewels from the site below, most are Chanel.

Have a great Thursday. I am off to the Met today to get inspired and check out the McQueen exhibit.

Rachel Antonoff Fall 2011

February 18, 2011

Fashion Week in New York has officially ended and what perfect way to end the week but with a high school dance. Rachel Antonoff held her fashion presentation at Laguardia High School and I love and think it is so original to have a high school party be the setting for her show. The models look so cute dressed in school inspired looks dancing with other models to music by band The Like. I love the Bass loafers and brogues with matching fabric from her collection. I really like the top and skirt combos as well as the dresses. They all have a kind of 50′s 60′s vibe to them mixed in with some 90′s.

love the metallic floral top

love this entire look. grey sweater with matching plaid skirt and shoes. nerdy chic, love

need to add velvet into my wardrobe

perfect sweetheart dress. love the metallic and the faint floral print

the hearts on the knees are very adorable

Have a great weekend. Anyone have a school dance tonight?

Pamela Love Fall 2011

February 16, 2011

So excited to post about Pamela Love’s fall 11″ jewelry collection since she has always been a favorite of mine. I am not lying when I tell you that this collection is her best yet, I just LOVE it! I was blown away and so happy that she used tons of beautiful crystals in her designs and you could tell they were her inspiration. The crystals seemed trapped inside the metals like they are trying to break free. They remind me of the crystals you would find coming out of the walls of a dark cave. The colors of the gems were so beautiful and mesmerizing and I love how she mixed them with beautiful metals which gave her work such a modern feeling. I especially love the arm cuffs that had crystals surrounded by gold metal. I would wear all of it all at once. The more crystals the better. Pics from Billy Farrell Agency.

Chanel Pre Fall 11′

December 16, 2010

How can you not love Chanel. Anything Karl makes turns to gold. Whenever I look at his runway photos I am more intrigued by the accessories and styling then I am by the clothes. I love the jewelry, hair, make up, and of course the purses. Anything Chanel will stay a classic forever. It is so fun to look at all the amazing jewelry and think that they will all be future vintage collectibles one day like the jewelry from the 80′s and 90′s. I really do love his latest collection and it reminds me of Cleopatra/ Liz Taylor in a way with the vintage 60′s vibe and all of that gold. Has a very Egyptian feel to it, especially with the gold headdresses the models are sporting down the runway.

love this classic cape. such a classic 60′s staple that is modern today

love the three strand beaded choker

amazing Egyptian revival necklace. Love this so much

Can’t get enough of the chunky gold jewelry

amazing dress. reminds me of mosaic tile work and again 60′s vintage feel. Very Mad Men

love the cut outs and beaded shoulder detailing

No words to describe this jacket. I am blown away

the necklaces look great mixed together

sequins galore!

the gold reminds me of shiny gold bangles

very 70′s. love the sparkle and the collar. reminds me of a necklace

amazing contrast with the white and black

love the Victorian dark Gothic feel, my favorite style

Wall Inspiration

November 2, 2010

Halloween is officially over and I am already excited and also can’t believe it is November. This is usually my favorite time of year since Thanksgiving and Christmas are soo close by. I am not excited about the recent cold we have been experiencing but am looking forward to some snow, hopefully soon. Since we can’t spend Christmas with my Dad this year, Craig and I are planning a get away to visit him in Puerto Rico hopefully the end of January. I can’t wait to feel some sunshine again soon. I don’t have any Halloween pics to post yet but hope to post by Wednesday. Our costumes came out great. I plan on spending the day working on tear outs to gain some inspiration for designing again soon. Tomorrow we have another meeting with a store in the city and hope to be in a few more before Thanksgiving. Below is an amazing editorial from British Vogue in their October issue from fashiongonerogue. When I saw these images on line I fell in love. The pics are so beautiful and I was even more excited when I realized I had the magazine at home. These photos will be going on my inspiration boards ASAP.

love the fringe on this dress

i love how all the photos have a real vintage feel to them

I think this is my favorite. love the harlequin theme

How was everyones Halloween?
