1960’s Make Up

I think it is pretty obvious that I love the 1960’s. The fashion, hair, jewelry, makeup, I am inspired by it all. And I like to take elements from the decade and incorporate it into my daily look. Especially when it comes to my hair and makeup. 1960’s makeup can be broken into two looks. The first is very feminine and lady like and the second more mod and outragous with lots of crazy colors.

The lady like look  is how I put myself together daily. I am growing my hair long and have thick blunt bangs. I wear mostly different shades of pink eye shadows sometimes with a black cat eye and lots of lashes. And I paint my lips with either a light pink, bright pink, or red lipstick. Other popular color eye shadows of the time are light blues and silvery whites all worn with a heavy black eyeliner.

The mod look uses bright colors such as blues, pinks, oranges, yellows and exagereates the way the makeup is applied. With lots of black eye liner and false eye lashes. Women might even draw cute shapes and designs on her face too. This is definitly a fun look to try for a night on the town or even a 1960’s themed costume party. Mad Men returns this april and I may have to repilcate one of the looks above for the premier.

I have found the perfect modern day makeup below that can be used to recreate both 1960’s looks. Have fun playing dress up every day. I know I love to!
