Road Trip To ATX Part One

June 14, 2012

Hi Guys,

Long time no write. I have been spending all of last week working and planning future blog posts. It has been so much fun and I am really happy to be working again. My next big project will be re doing our shop, can’t wait! Craig and I are still fixing up our new apt each night. Hanging up the last of our art work and other things and it is really coming together smoothly. Will be sharing pics in the future in many multiple apartment posts. It has officially been a little over two months since we moved to Austin. We are really loving the city and having so much fun exploring new things and places. I thought it was about time to show you our road trip pics. I am breaking these photos into two posts since there is soo many.

We left NYC March 30 and it seemed like the city did not want us to leave since we were stuck in 3 hours of traffic in Soho. Was not a good start to the long drive we had ahead of us. About three hours later we were driving somewhere in Pennsylvania when poor Rocco threw up in his cat bag. He basically let us know that he was ready to call it a night. We checked into a hotel down the road, called the vet, and then picked up a prescription for the cat for his motion sickness. I think it was around 11 pm when we stopped in AppleBee’s to have a bite to eat before bed. I must say the rest of the trip the cats were a breeze to travel with. Rocco had his daily pill each morning and slept the rest of the day as did his brother Rufus. Since the cats were traveling with us, we decided to only drive 8 hours a day with a few planned out trips. The first three days were spent on the road and we usually checked into our hotels around 6 or 7. We spent the night doing a little shopping at local Marshalls and TJ Maxx’s in West Virginia and Nashville. And ate way too much fast food for dinner.

Endless hours of packing with my little helpers before we left NY

Last view of Long Island City from our neighbors window before we hit the road

Finally making our way into New Jersey

Window view from Virginia. Lots of farm land

Inspiration reading for the long drive

New DV cork wedges found in Marshalls in West Virgina

Being escorted to their hotel room after a long day of sleeping

Road Signs

Beautiful sunset after a night of shoe shopping

Rocco enjoying his new room for the night. The cats loved exploring all of the hotel rooms

New Franco Sarto shoes, this time from TJ Maxx outside of Nashville. Love the 1940′s style

Stay tuned for part two of our road trip early next week

Lauren
