It’s All In The Accecories

September 28, 2011

The last couple of weeks I did a major closet clean out selling off all clothing that I no longer liked and or no longer fit well. It felt incredible to just purge my closet of clothing that was no longer me. I was even more excited to see what kind of money I could get for it when I sold it to Beacons. Craig and I did really well. Together we probably made around 600 in cash that we split in half. The other day I was looking through my closet to choose a dress to wear and the first thought that came to mind was oh my god, my closest looks so empty. I panicked for a bit thinking I have no clothes, what have I done. Then i remembered that I moved my summer things to CT for storage and felt a little better ha ha. And then i realized that it felt good to have less “stuff”. There is no point in holding on to clothing that does not fit or look good just to be able to say I have alot of clothes. At least now I know the clothing that I did keep looks good and actually fits. You don’t need to have a big closet sprawling to the seems. It is ok to wear the same thing multiple times and still feel happy wearing it. I also realized that instead of buying more clothing with that money I made from Beacons and cluttering my closest again I could buy accessories instead. Accessories are the perfect thing to spruce up an outfit or a dress that I wear all the time. Just chaning to a new pair of shoes or new jewelry or a new jacket makes the outfit that much fresher. I ended up buying new makeup which also changes the look of any outfit, a new pair of nude ballet flats, three interior design coffee table books, and doing a few DIY jewelry projects. So now that Fall is officially here why not buy a new purse, scarf, pair of sunglasses, lots of jewelry. I swear it will make your existing wardrobe feel brand new again. And of course I did a little pretend shopping on 1st Dibs to see what I could find.

A Chanel bag will never go out of style and mustard is the perfect fall color to spruce up a black outfit

love the bright green color in this Chanel scarf and the kitchy print as well

This belt would look great as a necklace too!

love the chain detailing and the fact that it is patent leather

I think its great that the boots or short. Short boots look great with dresses and the gold studs adds a little edge

Can’t go wrong with a classic Hermes belt. This will never go out of style. Looks great with jeans or even a dress

YSL 60′s Bakelite belt. Its insane looking I love it. And of course i would prefer to wear it as a necklace

Versace Purse
