Blandine Bardeau and Domingo Ayala Jewels

December 10, 2010

I have noticed that when I was in high school and college I wore alot of color when it came to fashion. I loved anything bright, turquoise, pink, yellow, the list goes on and i tended to wear monochrome outfits as well. One that comes to mind was when I went to Vegas for the first time and saw the Ricky Martin Concert. I had on a key hole baby blue tank top with bright blue pants and probably white platforms. Definitely a color overload and not in a good way. Today when I shop I seem to buy alot of neutrals. Lots of black, grey especially, greens, stripes. Nothing with too much pattern. I call that my basic dressing or the classic side in me. However, when I want to spice things up, I do go a little color and pattern crazy when I buy vintage. Lots of colorful sequins and crazy silk shirts. The kind of clothing your Grandma would wear in the 80′s. I like to have that mix in my closet. That way you never really know what your going to wear. I guess it depends on the kind of mood your in.

I do think that colorful jewelry is the perfect way to go when one wears a basic outfit. Colorful necklaces look great with jeans and a black blouse or dress. A little hint of color in your accessories can literally transform and outfit. So when I found jewelry designer Blandine Bardeau on line I fell in love. This jewelry is unlike anything I have seen before. So colorful and vibrant and full of life. I want to wear all of it. These necklaces can make any bad day seem better just by looking or wearing it. I think that is the true key to fashion. To wear things that can make you happy. Below are my favorites.

Love the tribal feeling of this necklace and all of the bright colors

I literally feel sunnier just by looking at these. All of the colors make me think of a rainbow

love this cuff

Domingo Ayala is another jewelry designer who creates very colorful designs. I don’t really have words to describe them so have a look for yourself. I would love to wear all of these bracelets and pile them up.

All of this wonderful colorful jewelry is inspiring me to make more colorful jewelry. I have drawers of jewelry that is waiting to be transformed so after New Years new designs will be emerging. Until then I have lots of unpacking and decorating to do with the apartment. Have a great weekend.
